Activities

1.- Accommodation during the week


During the week:
- You can walk on the mountain, following marked trails or exploring old footpaths with marks, watching the birds and the nature of the area. We can support you with instructions and maps for the routes.
- You can swim, the area offers a lot of small clear beaches.
- You can cook in the common kitchen of the hostel, alone or with other visitors of the hostel.
- You can browse the web, using the Centre’s computers or wireless network (free of charge).
- You can study in the small library
- You can participate in the famous panigiria of the island

2.- During the weekend*

On Saturday*:
- You can watch a lecture – slide show about the history an the architecture of Ikaria
- You can walk with us in a root on the mountains of the area.
- You can cook Ikarian dishes with us in the evening, in the “cooking lesson”. You can also contribute with your favorite recipes. And of course you can taste the results, with plenty of Ikarian wine!

On Sunday*
- You can walk alone on a trail in a different area of the island. We’ll provide you with maps, instructions and assistance for your transport.

3.- Greek language courses

From April to October every year
- Do you learn Greek? You can meet our Greek teachers and decide if you would like to take a course, this or the next year with them! For more information about the Greek language courses that we offer, follow the link: www.greekingreece.gr

4.- Do you learn a foreign language? (for Greeks)

You may practice the language you learn with a native speaker who attends Greek language courses with us during special tandem meetings or at the beach! (The activity is offered for free)
